Armenian Community of Detroit
We are scattered all over the globe. Dark fate has hit us hard and scattered us far and away from our ancient homeland. We are living in the diaspora with constant longing to return to our ancient homeland.
As people with love for life we have always struggled against cruel fate; always preserved our identity against real threats while remaining faithful to our historical background and traditions.
As an advanced and cultured nation we have enlightened with our presene wherever we may be. We have declined to live in dark ages by being vigilant against forces of darkness and backwardness. To preserve our identity and ensure our survival as a nation we have never failed or come up short at the altar of sacrifice.
At every sunrise we must renew our pledge to keep the struggle going to ensure the survivial of our nation even against incredible odds.
The Detroit Armenian community is an integral part of the Armenian nation as a whole. It is incumbent on this community to do its part to ensure the continued survival of the Armenian nation. To reach that goal we have to educate the youth and make them better informed about the dangers that threaten us. The Family, The Church, and the community organization whose primary mission is to prepare intellectually alert, physically fit, and morally superior youth who will serve as the future leaders of the community and the Armenian Nation as a whole to lead us into a better, brighter, and more secure future.
Homenetmen is the promise-keeping organization whose only concern is to serve and help the Armenian child and youth to become selfless and dedicated to the Armenian cause.
If we are genuinely devoted to the well-being of the Armenian nation the path is treacherous but open to reach our goals and materialize our hopes. Struggle breeds heroes. Heroes secure victory. A nation prospers with virtuousness of its sons and daughters.
